Our programs are designed to provide a safe, structured, beginner-friendly, and development-focused environment where young athletes can build volleyball skills, confidence, teamwork, and a positive connection to sport.
This guide provides families with practical information about participation, communication, safety, attendance, equipment, and general program expectations.
Program Expectations
Athletes are expected to arrive on time, participate respectfully, follow reasonable coach instructions, and contribute positively to the training environment.
RSVC encourages teamwork, effort, discipline, respect, and positive communication among athletes, coaches, families, volunteers, and facility personnel.
Training activities are structured to support age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate learning. Groupings or activities may be adjusted when needed to support athlete development, safety, attendance, or effective program delivery.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to support consistent attendance, positive communication, and respectful behaviour around training sessions and club activities.
What to Bring
Athletes should arrive prepared for each session with:
- comfortable athletic clothing suitable for volleyball;
- clean indoor athletic shoes;
- a water bottle; and
- knee pads where appropriate or preferred.
Families should also provide any personal support, health information, or other information reasonably required for the athlete's safe participation.
Please avoid bringing unnecessary valuables into gym facilities. Long hair should be secured where appropriate, and jewellery or accessories that may create a safety concern should be removed before participation.
Arrival & Pick-Up
Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure athletes arrive on time and are picked up promptly at the end of each session.
For athlete safety, participants should remain in the designated gym or pick-up area until their parent, guardian, or other authorized person arrives, unless another arrangement has been approved.
If an athlete will arrive late or leave early, families are encouraged to notify RSVC in advance whenever reasonably possible.
Gym & Behaviour Guidelines
Everyone attending an RSVC activity is expected to help maintain a safe, respectful, and organized environment.
- Follow reasonable directions from coaches, authorized RSVC personnel, and facility staff.
- Use equipment appropriately and only as directed.
- Respect gym property, change areas, shared spaces, and the belongings of others.
- Avoid disruptive, unsafe, intimidating, discriminatory, or disrespectful behaviour.
- Do not enter restricted areas or use equipment without permission.
- Report hazards, damage, injuries, or serious safety concerns promptly.
Facility-specific rules may also apply and should be followed by athletes, families, spectators, and guests.
Parent & Guardian Communication
RSVC aims to maintain clear, respectful, and practical communication with families throughout each program.
Program information, schedule updates, gym changes, reminders, or other important notices may be shared through official RSVC communication channels. Depending on the program, these may include email, TeamSnap where applicable, WhatsApp, registration platforms, or another official RSVC channel.
Families are encouraged to notify RSVC of absences, injuries, safety concerns, or other information that may reasonably affect an athlete's participation.
Questions or concerns should be raised respectfully and, where possible, outside active training time so coaches can remain focused on athlete supervision and program delivery.
Safety & Supervision
RSVC aims to provide a structured and supervised training environment that supports athlete safety, development, and respectful participation.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate and reasonably current information about injuries, medical conditions, allergies, accessibility needs, emergency contacts, or other circumstances that may affect safe participation.
Athletes and families should promptly report injuries, illness, suspected concussion, unsafe conditions, or significant safety concerns.
RSVC personnel do not provide medical diagnosis or medical clearance. Parents and guardians remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional medical advice where required.
Attendance & Scheduling
Consistent attendance supports athlete development, group continuity, and effective coaching.
Families are encouraged to notify RSVC when an athlete will be absent or significantly delayed.
Program schedules, locations, coaching assignments, groupings, or session arrangements may occasionally change because of facility availability, safety considerations, attendance, seasonal programming, or operational needs.
Missed sessions are not normally rescheduled, credited, or refunded unless RSVC has specifically confirmed another arrangement.
Clothing & Optional RSVC Apparel
Athletes should wear comfortable indoor athletic clothing appropriate for volleyball training.
RSVC shirts, hoodies, or other club apparel may occasionally be available. Unless a specific program, event, or team requirement states otherwise, optional club apparel is not required for participation.
Where apparel is ordered, families should confirm sizing and other order details carefully because customized or already-ordered items may not be refundable.
