Terms of Service

Welcome to Rocky Spikes Volleyball Club (RSVC), a registered BC non-profit youth volleyball club serving Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities.

These Terms of Service apply to participation in RSVC programs, registration activities, club communications and use of our website. By registering a minor participant, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the applicable program information and club policies.

 1.⁠ ⁠Eligibility

RSVC youth programs primarily serve athletes from 12U–17U. Age groups, skill requirements and eligibility may vary by program.

A parent or legal guardian must complete registration and provide required consent for participants who are minors.

 2.⁠ ⁠Registration and Program Placement

Submitting an interest form, waitlist form, evaluation request or registration form does not guarantee placement or participation.

Registration is confirmed only after all applicable registration requirements have been completed and RSVC has confirmed the athlete’s place in the program.

RSVC may consider age, experience, skill level, developmental readiness, program objectives and available space when determining appropriate placement.

 3.⁠ ⁠Program Fees and Payment

Program fees, payment instructions and applicable deadlines are provided with the relevant program information.

A participant’s place may not be considered confirmed until required payment and registration steps have been completed.

 4.⁠ ⁠Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds, cancellations, withdrawals, missed sessions and program changes are governed by the applicable RSVC Refund Policy and any program-specific terms provided before registration.

Families are encouraged to review these terms before completing payment.

 5.⁠ ⁠Program Changes

RSVC may reasonably adjust schedules, locations, instructors, training formats or other program details when necessary due to facility availability, safety considerations, operational requirements or circumstances beyond the club’s reasonable control.

Where a material change occurs, RSVC will communicate with affected families as soon as reasonably practical.

 6.⁠ ⁠Participant Conduct

Athletes, parents, guardians, coaches, volunteers and other participants are expected to maintain respectful, safe and appropriate conduct.

Applicable RSVC Codes of Conduct form part of these Terms.

Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abuse, threatening behaviour or conduct that creates an unreasonable safety risk may result in appropriate action in accordance with applicable club policies and procedures.

 7.⁠ ⁠Athlete Safety

RSVC is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive youth sport environment.

Applicable coaches, volunteers and other Persons in Authority are expected to meet the registration, screening, safeguarding and Safe Sport requirements applicable to their roles.

Parents and guardians should promptly advise RSVC of relevant health, accommodation or safety information reasonably necessary for an athlete’s participation.

 8.⁠ ⁠Injuries and Emergencies

Athletes and families should promptly report injuries, incidents or safety concerns to the appropriate club representative.

Where reasonably necessary to protect a participant’s health or safety, RSVC may contact a parent or guardian, emergency contact or appropriate emergency personnel.

 9.⁠ ⁠Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with RSVC’s Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements in British Columbia, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

10.⁠ ⁠Photography and Media

RSVC may photograph or record club activities where appropriate.

Identifiable athlete images, video, names or other personal information intended for promotional or public-facing use will be handled in accordance with applicable consent requirements and RSVC’s Privacy Policy.

11.⁠ ⁠Complaints and Concerns

Questions, complaints, conduct concerns or disputes should be raised through the applicable RSVC Complaint and Resolution Procedure.

Where a matter falls within the jurisdiction of Volleyball BC or another applicable sport body, additional reporting or complaint processes may apply. Volleyball BC currently provides independent pathways for conduct and safety concerns involving sanctioned activities.

12.⁠ ⁠Non-Affiliated Programming

Where an RSVC activity is not sanctioned by or affiliated with Volleyball BC, RSVC will identify that status where required or appropriate.

13.⁠ ⁠Website Use

Website content is provided for general information about RSVC and its programs.

Program schedules, fees, eligibility requirements and availability may change. Current program-specific information should be reviewed before registration.

14.⁠ ⁠Changes to These Terms

RSVC may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to club operations, programs, policies or applicable requirements.

The current version will be posted on the RSVC website with its effective date.
